While you'll find similarities in style from \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eDead Rose\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e (the debut LP from \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Twin\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cspan\u003e), the songs spread across the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eDoll\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e EP are sparse and haunting, stripped down to their raw, dark emotion.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eDoll\u003c\/i\u003e is an exploration of catharsis through song, endured and then captured by songwriter Bryan Louie (\u003cb\u003eThe Twin, Joshua Fit For Battle\u003c\/b\u003e), performing under the moniker \u003cb\u003eKai Mark\u003c\/b\u003e. The 4 songs on the \u003ci\u003eDoll\u003c\/i\u003e EP were originally penned while in complicated relationships that ultimately met their end, and the themes that run through them are soaked in noir penitence.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the frigid Brooklyn winter of late 2019 and early 2020, \u003ci\u003eDoll\u003c\/i\u003e was put to tape with the help of engineer and musician Jon Tehel (\u003cb\u003eAircrafting, Gunboat\u003c\/b\u003e). Initially meant to just be a personal release of emotions to never see the light of day due to its raw honesty, friends who heard the tracks encouraged Louie to reveal the songs to the world in hope that others could find healing in them as well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe physical release of the \u003ci\u003eDoll\u003c\/i\u003e EP is pressed onto a single 7\" record, with a jacket that boasts a mixture of reverseboard offset printing as well as screen printed overlays, giving it the touch of a mixed media art piece. Combining the digital printed photography and the grit \u0026amp; texture of the screen printing makes this a unique art piece, complete with gorgeous new music.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis first pressing is limited to only 150 handmade copies, spread across two variants.
